For parents

Undohs is made for grown-ups and kids. Here's exactly how it works for children, what they see, and what you control.
Who runs Undohs
Undohs is run by Thomas Leeming, a sole trader. You can reach us any time at rightaboutnothing@gmail.com.
Ages and accounts
- Accounts are created by an adult. When setting up a pet, the account owner chooses Kid, Teen or Adult, and the app adjusts what it shows.
- For a child, an adult opens Settings → Family dashboard → Add a child and makes a one-time link or QR code for the child's device. It creates a linked Kid profile without an email or password. This is free; no Undoh Family subscription is required.
- Children should use Undohs with a parent or guardian's permission and help. Kid profiles have parent-approved friends, no nutrition numbers and no shop. Teen is a separate display setting: teens see nutrients without calories, can add friends without parent approval and can see the shop. It is not a parent-managed child login. These settings are not age verification.
What's different on kid profiles
- No calories, weight or "bad food" talk. Meal feedback uses friendly ratings and gentle wording only.
- No shop, prices, upgrade prompts or paid styles.
- No ads, ever, for anyone.
Friends need your approval
- Kids can only add friends once they're linked to a parent. Linking through a child setup link and approving friends are free.
- Every friend request involving a child goes to the parent's Family dashboard to approve or decline. Until you approve it, the friendship can't be accepted.
- Friends see only each other's display name, pet name, pet, level and streak. They can't message each other, and they never see meal photos.
Your Family dashboard
The free Family dashboard shows your linked children's pets, levels, streaks and today's habits, a whole-family summary, and friend requests waiting for approval. Undoh Family is an optional paid plan for sharing cosmetics, not for unlocking safety controls.
Meal photos and AI
- When someone snaps a meal, the photo is sent once to an AI service to recognise the food and write the pet's reply. Food names are then looked up in the USDA nutrition database.
- Undohs does not save meal photos to its app database or photo library, and does not show them to friends or family. The photo is transmitted to our AI service for processing; this is not a promise that no service provider can access it. Provider processing, security logging and retention are separate from Undohs' own storage, and we do not promise a specific provider retention period here. Avoid including faces or other personal details.
- The AI can mistake one food for another, and portions are estimates. If it gets something wrong, take another photo or just check in the habit by hand. It isn't medical or diet advice.
- For the admin panel, we keep only a count of meal checks and how much AI they used, never the photo or what was on the plate.
Reminders
Reminders only go to devices where someone tapped "Allow". You can turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings.
